Portraitist and painter Jeff Morrow creates tightly rendered oils reminiscent of the romantic and realist painters of the 19th century. Primarily focusing on portraiture, sporting art and urban scenes of Ohio, Morrow gained an aesthetic education through his 28-year career as a commercial photographer and video producer.
In addition to classic realism, Morrow also paints in the plein air tradition of impressionism, evoking the landscapes of JMW Turner and his contemporaries.
Morrow is primarily self-taught, which has allowed him to develop a style that is very much his own. Historically-based yet contemporary in spirit, Morrow’s work maintains a relevance to the art world today.
A member of the Portrait Society of America, Morrow resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.
